The concept of qard hasan is an instrument in Islamic economics that emphasises welfare aspects in its implementation. The concept of qard hasan has been developed into a zakat instrument and is practised by several Muslim countries including Kuwait. This study aims to explore the implementation mechanism of micro credit-qard hasan financing through zakat funding by Zakat House Kuwait. This study uses a qualitative approach involving a literature review, including relevant books and journals. The materials obtained will be analysed using the document analysis method. The study results show that Kuwait has a comprehensive mechanism for implementing micro credit-qard hasan financing through zakat funding that includes document review, application verification, evaluation at the Audit Department level and decisions at the Decision Making Committee level. Thus, this initiative was detected not only to help asnaf entrepreneurs get capital to start and continue the business but it can also to save asnaf entrepreneurs from getting involved in loans that have elements of usury. This can simultaneously increase the economy of small and medium entrepreneurs. The study found that Zakat House Kuwait also devised a good strategy to avoid significant risks to the zakat fund by setting the condition that repayment should not exceed 30 times the payment. Likewise, the tolerance practised at the Zakat House Kuwait level allows the payment start period to be two months after the borrower receives the payment. This can give space and time to the borrower to strengthen the sector that is being carried out before acting to repay the repayment commitment of the borrowed funds. This study also found that the micro credit-qard hasan financing through zakat funding is Shariah compliant by many modern scholars such as al-Qaradawi.
