A Critical Discourse Analysis of Meaning Elements: Suratu Duha a Case Study

Abstract

This paper explores meaning elements that enhance the researcher in exploring what the content is teaching. It emphasizes the contribution of cohesion and vowels changing in specification of the text meaning. The paper also discusses features that distinguished a highquality sentence from dreadful ones. It also elaborates significance of these vowels along with mentioning positions where these vowels restrain from meaning. In the nut shell, it draws a critical discourse analysis with elements of meaning on suratu Duha (chapter 93) of Holy Quran where some lessons were drawn out with assistance of these elements. The researcher follows descriptive and analytical methods in preparing this paper. Finally, the writer arrives at some results which include: confirmation of some elements that contribute to specification of meaning in text or sentence. That vowels and cohesion are two main elements in distribution of text meaning and lastly these elements are tools that enhance getting hidden meanings.
