Prophetic Guidance in Facing the Tribulations of the End Times: A Thematic Study

Abstract

The tribulations of the end times are events that are certain to occur. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself informed his ummah about the severity of these trials. According to some contemporary scholars, certain signs of these end-time tribulations have already begun to emerge, serving as indicators of the nearing of the Day of Judgment. Therefore, the researcher feels it is essential to conduct a study to understand the Prophet’s guidance in facing these tribulations. This is of great importance, as the Prophet not only foretold the coming of these trials but also provided clear guidance on how to navigate and survive them. Indeed, there is no path better than the path shown by the Prophet (PBUH). To achieve this objective, a qualitative method was employed by analysing the content of hadiths related to end-time tribulations. The findings of this study indicate that, in facing such trials, the Prophet taught his ummah to prepare in several aspects—namely spiritual, intellectual, political, and others.
