Maqāṣid Syarīʻah has been clearly applied in various laws since the time of the Prophet, his companions and his friends including drinking and consumption. Its application is then expanded by today's scholars who summarize food and beverage laws in general, if it provides good and illegal when it comes to harm. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the maqāṣid syarīʻah in determining alcohol -related fatwa in nutrition in Malaysia. It was decided by the National Council Fatwa Committee for Islamic Religious Affairs of Malaysia (JFMKI) and the State Fatwa Committee (JFN). This study uses a qualitative approach that involves document analysis methods as well as interview methods. Data are obtained, analyzed using inductive, deductive and comparative methods. The findings of the study found that the Fatwa Committee in Malaysia took into account the judgment of maqāṣid syarīʻah in deciding the fatwa related to alcohol in food and beverages despite the simple answer or decision of the fatwa without further description as in the Fatwa collections. The analysis of the maqāṣid syarīʻah in the determination of the fatwa of alcohol was grouped into five principles namely Hifz al-Nafs; preserving life and personal safety, Hifz al-'Aql; preserving the intellect, Hifz al-Din; preserving religion, Hifz al-Mal; preserving property and property rights, Hifz al-Muruah; Preserve dignity. The application of maqāṣid syarīʻah can improve the views of the law and fatwa decided by the authority bodies. Therefore, an integrated approach in various aspects needs to be done to enable the right methods of use with Islamic law to meet the needs of individuals and communities now in accordance with the principles of maqāṣid syarīʻah to preserve well -being and avoid harm in the world and the hereafter.
